Can players move from team to team as they like or do they have to play for where there from.

Because l have seen a few players change teams but it seems rare, or is it that you have to play for the state you are living in??

Although l dont watch domestic cricket, l think you cannot just play for any state team. You have to play for the state team where you currently live. Just like the case of Mitch (not the one below me), he shifted to Perth from Queensland and now he is gonna play for them in the bouncy WACA pitch. No wonder Queensland Cricket chief executive Graham Dixon tried to convince Mitchell to stay in Queensland as they didnt want to lose him from the team.

You dont have to play for the state you live in. Some get payed to move teams and some chose to move (mitchell Johnson).

They can really pick and choose. Ponting lives south of Sydney but has said he would only play for Tasmania.
