Well mate, there is one thing which is very clear from all this drama is that KP always played for himself & not England. He wanted too much control & was beginning to dictate terms. l mean u dont issue ultimatums to get rid of the coach when u r yourself working for the board too.

l have read the entire story & it seems KP never had the support of his team mates. It wouldnt have mattered much if the coach went because according to reports, the team members actually backed the coack & not KP. He could have stuck it out but there werent many positives that could have come out of it. So, its only fitting that he stepped down & let Strauss take charge as it stands now.

Do not agree with the above user. Pietersen does not only play for himself. The reason the whole row started was because Pietersen thought he needed help captaining England, so he wanted Michael Vaughan to help him in the series against West Indies.

Pietersen had lost the dressing room, most of his team-mates were on Peter Moores side, so for a captain to lose the dressing room, is the worst thing that can happen to a captain.

The simple fact is that Pietersen did not have the belief that he could lead England without the help of Michael Vaughan. If Pietersen himself does not feel he has the knowledge to succeed as captain, why should his team-mates.

Pietersen is time is up, Strauss has been appointed, & he is perfect for the job. Sensible, tactically astute & a team man. Best thing that could have happened to England, & it knocked Pietersen down a peg or 2

Well to be honest NO. l knew he could'nt last long as England captain,i think they will be a hell of a lot better off with out him at the helm.To be honest l think he is too cocky and immature to be Captain of a great side like England is.
