Has the selection process not strategised for the retirement of great players ?or the country losing interest in cricket and looking towards other sports ?

Are there some things to learn for other countries ?

Great Players retired.

Well, as many have said in the recent past, nothing remains the same always. In the sixties they were a mighty cricketing nation, then came West Indies. If u observe, W l reigned longer as World Champions, & the crash was worse. For close to two decades The Aussies dominated, but it is not possible to keep that momentum always. The important thing is they have the proper domestic structure, which'lll allow them to bounce back.. unlike the W Indies. It is exciting times ahead, with 3 or 4 equal teams fighting it out.

ACB is slow to change and introduce new blood to its training ifavouritismtop favourtism and racial attitude towards player selection ie: mostly white players only.

CA has ben slow in the changing of the guard. Even though Ponting has claimed that the top order needs to muscle up, it has been the bowlers who have been dropped. It does appear that there has been too much of a boy is club there. Players like Hayden & Symonds should have both gone earlier & Watson not contemplated at all. But do not forget this is only our second series loss, we have just lost to India but losing to India over there is nothing new as we have only won once there in 40 years. The team to SA will decide the direction we r going.

The same thing happened in the early 80 is with the retirements of Chappel, Marsh and Lilliee. It took a few years for Australia to recover but they did and came back and dominated cricket for nearly 20 yrs. Theyve lost too many greats from a settled side and will now have to rebuild, but still a force to be reckoned with.

Retirement of players like Mc Grath, Shane Warne, Justin langer, Martyn and Gilchrist has weakened Australian Team tio great extent. Replacements with performance near to or equal to the above plahyers have not emerged in Australian Team. This factor is the main reason for the decline of Australian team.

Gamini, there is no racial anything in Australian cricket, what aporky! Australian aboriginals choose to play rugby league as their favoured sport. l have yet to see one in cricket. The only coloured person to play for Australia is Andrew Symonds in recent times, & that would be his West Indian heritage l should think. The only racial problem encountered here was caused by Harbhajan Singh & he is Indian. Do you see where i'm going with this?
