what a wonderfull drama packed year 2008 has been for cricket. The year has seen the begining of a decline of Australian dominance, the rise of South Africa, the millions of dollars spent on Indian tournaments, A complete revamp of the 2007 world cup second-runner-up New Zealand team, the growing isolation of Pakistan, the West Indies team left looking like swiss cheese after many retirments, England losing out on 20 million, Bangladesh having its first win over another test playing nation in years, the struggling Sri Lankens...

So what are your predictions? where are these teams heading in 2009?

im not agree with ur comment ''Struggling Srilankans''.. They have good year after they find Mendis. l think This year will belong to three teams.. SA, Ind & Srilanka.. Aus have to find some talents to fill the gaps..Look like pak again play 10+ matches with minows.. Nz need a good leader. may be they find in this year.. W l base on two players.. Gayle & Chanderpaul. may be they find 4 or 5 good ones.. England.. they r not struggling from internal politics.. hope for the best for them.. Bangla play their best cricket in last two games against Sri. ,,

1-1 test drawn with west indies
0-2 lost odi series against west indies(next year wont belong to australians because they whitewashed westindies accoring to arslan but will to srilanka)
won asia cup
won test series 2-1 against india
lost 2-3 odi series against india
won 5-0 odi series against zimbabwe(won last 3 very easily,didnt they?lolzz)
GOT A HUGE START IN 2009 in One-days when they beat zimbabwe by 130 runs
who cares if they lost the second one against bangladesh & really struggled in finals,this year definately belongs to them

and what was their win percentage in 2008?
and what was their percentage in 2008 if u exclude zimbabwe series?and asia cup is UAE match?

l think bangladesh will get alot better and it wont be long before they are beating other sides. new zealand and west indies will get even worse. the ashes will be the best series ever and south africa will be no. 1 in odi cricket and india no. 1 in test cricket. also pakistan and sri lanka will fall into the new zealand and west indies class.

My Opinion on teams in 2009, Australia may try to find their lost form. Their success ration may be 40:60. SA should rule both test & OD l form of cricket. India to give tough chance to SA in test as well as OD. Pakistan may again fall short of internaional cricket. SL has found a new weapon in spin & if the batsmen find form then it wil also emerge as good team. NZ r powerfull only in home side & if India win both test & OD l series in NZ then it may sink further down. W l rely mainly on gayle, sarvan & chandrapaul so unless it finds some genune bowlers & some more good batsmen, it will sink further down. Bangladesh team is improving & we have to see its performence in 2009
