His batting technique and temperament were outstanding for such a young cricketer & in today is T20 game he was the only hope SA had at any chance of victory. He reminds me of how Tendulkar used to be, back in the early 90s. Do you hink Duminy will be the next Tendulkar of the cricketing world? :-)

Looks like he has the stroke-making abilities of a young Tendulkar, his cover-drive is so gorgeous to watch. He also has a great temperament which showed with his 2 cracking knocks in the Test series.

His First Class average and performances show that he the ability to become a huge star in International cricket, but International Cricket is about more than ability, can Duminy cope with the demands of being a Cricketing Superstar.

The likes of Sachin Tendulkar are born once in a eon. Let young Duminy sustain his performance long enough to make comparisons and predictions.

JP showed today he can be a force in all forms of the game in years to come.

He has been heralded in SA as a future batting star since his teens.

At 24, he is an extremely good prospect, & his epic 166 was of the sort of character that usually assures a long test future.

Not always though - look at Tendulkars schoolmate Vinod Kambli - he seemed destined for greatness after half a dozen tests & three centuries, including two doubles, but it wasnt to be.

In contrast, Tendulkar, by the time he was 24, ie 1997, was pretty much undoubtably the best batsman in the world, in both forms of the game.

Not many people start when they r 16 though!

Australia has borne witness to some of the great career launches though (Lara is 277 in Sydney, Tendulkars twin gems in 91, esp his knock in Perth, Juniors 138)

no, lol, never. His technique, shot prouction, balance & temparment is no where near Tendulkars. Just because he has had a couple of good games, u cant start comparing him to the elite best of cricket.

He is however from what l have seen, is a very promising player, & does look very good.

He does have the traits of Ganguly, of brilliant hand eye coordination, good balance, limited foot movemet, excellent timing & the knack at picking at the gaps. Uncanny resembelence

No doubt JP Duminy is a fine young player.
He is so smooth with his strokes but who knows what the future holds.
He definately has the potential to become one of the best.
