Yes. Remember the Daily Telegraph is report when Hilditch was on holidays whilst an important SCG test was going on. He did not even watch how they were going. In my opinion, he should get the sack. He does not care about anything. Shane Warne would be a good selector or Glen McGrath. At least they watch the cricket! =]

Yes, l do agree with his comments, but l think they are not the only reasons. The selectors in my opinion are partly to blame as well.

l mean, they should not have played that spinner (Hauritz) and played another ALL ROUNDER (WATSON OR SYMONDS) or another pacey.

Its true that Lee, Hussey & Hayden r to be balmed. But Hilditch is guilty cow for selecting them in the first place. What explanation does Hilditch have for persisting with Hayden despite his prolonged poor run? Can he give any reasons for including Symmo in the team despite him being not fit? He also has no answer for not giving deserving players like Marsh, Phil, Hilfy & Rogers the chance even when we were losing the matches.

If someone is not performing, its the selector is job to replace him with someone else. l am sure Hilditch is position is under scrutiny after the home series loss & he is just trying to cover up.

Australian selectors were earlier only not watching the internal tournaments & matches. Now it is clear they r not even watching test matches. The selectors & the Punter r the one who should own up for it is their collective fault for the mess Australia is in. Why do they single out players? To make scape goat andwitch hunting?

While Hussey is failure is not the selectors fault, Symonds inclusion was hap-hazard, Watsons exclusion the same, the spinners have been handled very very badly since Warne retired (McGill, Hogg, Casson, Krezje, McGain & Hauritz with noone getting an extended go, in 18 months). There were question marks over Haydens form, & they elected to keep the faith in him despite numerous failures. They have to wear that. Lee, should have been rested for the NZ series probably. Watsons inclusion in the test squad despite being injured is very hard to comprehend.

In short, Hilditch has had his chance. His been there for 12 years, by far the longest serving selector.

But re people saying drop Ponting? Are u joking?

He is the most reliable batsman in the world over the last few years.

This year is the worst l can remember him having in a while.

He still scored a 1000 runs at an average of 45.

Very good figures for anyone not named Ponting.

He is the batsman opposition sides want back in the dressing rooms, before they can begin to feel safe/confident

It is unfortunate that he seems unable to control his body language on the field, & is too easy to provoke or become defensive. He does not seem to inspire his players in the field, or off it, only with the bat.

This just may indicate, Pup should take over in the next 12-18 months & rebuild the team he will be leading for the next 5-6 years.

Punter though, if he bats like hes done for the last 10 years, must like Tendulkar, never be dropped.

Its sad he does not get the respect he deserves.
