Australia is still no.1 in my opinion and im a kiwi lol. They still have great depth in their player pool.. think about the players they didnt pick for the test.. Watson, tait and wat not..

The Australian team has shown signs of decline according to their highly set standards. They never allowed an ounce a few years ago. But, now with the good performances by South Africa & India, they r being tried & tested to the hilt.

You can never say that their era is going to end soon. It will take some consistent run of victories by other teams to write off Australia.

India & South Africa r currently the best teams according to the recent form (for the last 18 months), but, Australia is still the No.1 team according to the rankings. (If u want to believe in the system of ICC ratings & it is better to believe because India is no.1 in T20!!!)

Australia will always be a competitive team even if they lose their No.1 spot. Australia have pretty good youngsters in their domestic cricket circut and they will always be a good team, just wo not win as many matches.
