Former right-arm pacer Jason Gillespie has accused Cricket Australia of not supporting its players as the Board officials are too occupied mantaining their cordial relationship with their Indian counterparts. Gillespie, who was banned from first-class cricket after signing a three-year deal with the ‘rebel’ ICL, termed CA’s stand to abide by the BCCl as a “big joke”.

BCC l is the strongest Board in World Cricket so Cricket Australia is following the old suite '' If You Cannot Beat The Gang Then Join The Gang'' '' Big Joke''

As a cricketing board it is important that u have ties & cordial relationship with other cricketing boards so that u have test matches played.It is important to have a good relationship with any cricket board leave alone the BCCI.But that does not mean that u cave in to their ways.You do not have to dance to their tunes.Yeah l partly agree with Jason when he accused them of NOT supporting their players , if they r obliging to whatever the BCC l says. The SriLankan board has decided not to oblige with BCCI.Iam sure CA will also realize that

l would say its important to have ties but not to the extent of NOT supporting ur players.

l can give u an instance for this , in those days the South African team used to play only with white skinned teams.So England had a dark player.So RSA di not want that player to be their side

l admire Gillespie a lot; he is a fine bowler & gentleman, but he can not have the pie & eat it too. When he signed up with a rebel league( l am not going in to a debate what is rebel or is it fair or not) he'd have known he was putting his own board on a delicate sitauation. The BCC l & CA r the ICC recognized boards & they r bound to stick together. Money & power do not come in to the picture. And CA is not such a poor board that they have to dance to someone is tunes. As & when ICL is recognoised by ICC things will improve, till then Jason must be satisfied with the millions he is making by associating with ICL

Unfortunately, Gillespie is correct. It is a big joke. It will be a very costly one as soon as a player takes the ICC/BCC l to court over restraint of trade. It will happen and the player(s) will win. It has happened in cricket before and in other sports. If everyone agrees with the rules everything is fine. As soon as one person digs their heels in, that will be the end of it.

Just another example of where money is more of a priority.

The IPL-ICL controversy has to end somewhere. If cricket is a game & IPL is a tournament for promoting the game, ICL is also doing the same. When IPL can buy cricketers, ICL can do so.

After all, we people want entertainment, improvement in standard of the game, grooming better talent & doing some charities for the poor with the mobilised money. l feel both IPL & ICL r trying to do that.

Probably Galespie is correct.

He is a great cricketer. He knows which side of his slice is buttered. Not every other cricketer is as intelligent as he is.

l support Jason, he is only saying what the rest of Australia are saying. As Mamba says, it is good to have a cordial relationship with other boards, but they should never go against their own players, no matter what. l have lost a lot of respect for CA over the Symonds/Bhaji affair. What they did was unforgivable, & so was ICC is part in the matter.
