Nope this is definately not the end of australia is kingdom. l think aus will win in sydney and then recover! alternatively we might lose but rebuild by regaining players such as clark symonds lee and hopefully hussey and hayden can gain some form

Actually practically speaking, India drew with them in 2004 in Australia when India beat them at Adeliade & then umpires came to rescue of Steve Waugh is departure series.

This year also, India was on the way of victory with Aussies 134/6 & Symonds played a knock of 163 , when he should not have scored even 3 in that innings but was given 3 clear lives in that innings, the ideal true result of that sydney match was twisted , l would consider that also a victory of India by an innings !

so this is not their first series loss, as per my understanding they lost to India & SA both at home soil!

assies lost the series to india in january! sydney test was a cheat by assies! so india and south africa have flogged assies in assies own den! assies cant win without cheating! they have only beaten west indies and new zealand this year! and of course cheating the sydney test against india!

l really think that it`s just that the other countries r just catching up to Australia. After ''poaching'' all our coaches, that Colley bloke who showed the poms how to bowl in 05. Geoff Lawson to Pakistan. Dav Whatmore to sri Lanka. & for goodness sake Greg Chapell to India. no wonder!
But l must agree with u that l think going 16 years might be hard to do again. The Aussie`s looked tired, there all carrying injuries. l think some of them really wern`t up for it, in the second test, they really need a spell, & there not going to get it next year either.

Not at all. Australia set very high standards and as a cricket lover it is great to see other countries lift their standards so well. We will just have to work harder at it now.

To all those who keep harping about Australia cheating, may l remind you it was an Indian captain who got done for match fixing. Now that is cheating.

Morally they had lost in 2007 itself to India. But for unfair means employed by all concerned, the series result would have been 2-1 India and not 2-1 Australia.

After mid 2007 Australian have not won any matches against any strong team. During this period they had won only 2 matches against 8th placed New Sealand. They lost 3 to India and drawing 2 . Lost both to Proteas.

By end 2009, Australia would be fighting for the 6th place.

No.this is just a phase.they will be back. They probably wo not be as dominant as they were but they will be in the top 3.
Remember, the SA had to fight hard to win both tests. Ponting could have levelled the series in India if he was not so bothered about the over rates.

As for all the people harping about the Sydney test, there is no way u can say that India would have won it. Symonds should have been out but some other aussie could have come & played an innings. The Indians could have still won the test if they bowled the aussies out cheaply in the second innings. IMO a draw was a fair result. India did not deserve to lose that match.
