Yes l have heard that the boundary ropes for T20s r quite shorter than the ropes played for ODIs. l am not sure why its shorter though, but it does makes the job for the batsmen really easy, to hit the ball out of the ground in no time!
l dont know about the rules of the boundary ropes though, but yea am pretty sure the ropes that r used r quite shorter in the T20s, dont know why.
But yes, l really think there should be the same size of boundaries in all the formats. There shouldnt be too much change in the size whatsoever.

l can not see a difference.
But if it is,then also it is not bad in my opinion as it entertains and even frustrates the spectators than usual.

Sorry man but its not true. The boundary rope for t20s are shorter.they made that rule after they test the t20s.Imagine the distance of boundary rope in ODIs is 80 in the stright and 85 is from leg to off then the boundary rope for the t20s will be 70 in straight and 75 in leg to off.

l was watching an ICL game on tv. There was a fence set up inside the ground 10 metres from the boundary fence. There was then a rope boundary set another 10 meters inside that.

Boundaries are not usually bigger than 70m in Twenty20 games because 4 is and 6 is are what the crowd want to see. Even in small grounds with small boundaries, it is likely to see the boundary brought in a tiny amount.

The rule is ignored, it will be rare to see a boundary ever brought in short in a Test match unless rain has affected the outfield. Most boundaries are shortened for T20 and even ODI's

The Laws of Cricket covers test matches only. ODI, T20 are different versions and are bound by Playing conditions. playing conditions will suit only for that tournament or series. it is possible to have shorter, the same depending upon the playing conditions, like we had review of umpire is decision, (abandoned) super-substitute idea, no-ball free hit Etc.
