Before the M.A.Chidambaram Stadium was built which stadium was the venue for Test Match Cricket in Chennai

AT first it was Island Grounds. Here in 1954 Pankaj Roy and Vinoo scored 415 runs for the opening stand which stood for more than 60 years until it was broken by Graeme Smith and McKenzie.

Then it was Corporation Stadium near Chennai Central. It was later named as Nehru Statium.

In the 70 the venue was shifted to Chepauk Stadium. It was later named as M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.

MA Chidambaram stadium was built in 1916 and India played its first test here in 1934. But it was previously known as Madras Cricket Club Ground or simply as Chepauk

Test matches were played in SDAT Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium near Chennai Central station!(at those times)
