It has been said that the 2011 WC may be moved to another country because of the continuing terrorist activities in the sub continent.ICC meet next week to discuss a possible move to another venue & NZ & Aus have been suggested. Although the WC is scheduled to be held here in 2015, it may well be moved forward to 2011, according to cricket sources. What are your thoughts on this?

Carlos, read the Q. You DID read it did not you? It says that the WC may be held in Aus or NZ if things do not improve in the sub continent( security wise)

It would be safe to host WC-2011 in the Asian countries.Coz all these countries will be the ideal place where lots of cricket fans are there than the other nations .as the Indian Population is larger you'd notice many of the Indian fans are awaiting for the 2011WC.

It is probably a good idea to at least begin discussions on changing venue. The ICC often get accused of not doing the right thing at the right time so at least they're moving forward in a progressive manner. Even if they do not actually change the venue, it is still a very good idea to have a back-up plan in case the problems on the sub-continent become worse.

l am sure they will be closely monitoring the situation for the next year or so & will make a definitive decision nearer the time. They can always swap hosting duties with Australia/NZ & the sub-continent if the terrorist situation does not resolve itself soon. Australia/NZ can have the WC in 2011 & the sub-continent can get it in 2015 (if there r no problems out there by then that is) to make up for losing out (if they lose it that is).

We guess it would move to ENGLAND not AUS or N.Z.

l think it is a little too early to specualte on such matters, & also a little insensitive.

India is going through a time of unprecedented trauma, & now is not the time to be talking of rescheduling events there. The World Cup is more than two years away. We do not know what the situation will be like there then.

Having said that, it would be wise to take precautions in case activities do continue to the extent we have seen recently. Swapping the hosts of 2011 & 2015 around may be a good idea if terrorism is still continuing in India in 2011.

The ICC will certainly not want another ''Champios Trophy'' debacle, with half the countries pulling out at the last minute. That would cost them millions, & we know how avaricious the ICC is!

l say give it to New Zealand.It then gets people off our back,we can not be blamed for the pitches or for the umpires.I'd love it here,but at least in New Zealand we get to see everything.

It is too soon to decide. Australia & NZ are likely to be just the alternate venues. The 2011 WC will most probably be played in the Indian subcontinent.
